Each culture creates its own definition of a hero. In India, Rama, from The Ramayana, is the epitome of a hero: he fulfills his dharma and lives his life serving the gods; while, in British myth Beowulf, Beowulf is hailed as a hero for his upstanding bravery and glory won in battle.
