When I got this class, I thought I would learn the same old stuff I was taught when I was younger. But I was mistaken, I learned about things I have never heard of and I expanded my knowledge on other things such as what religion is, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Daoism. At first I didn’t know how to describe what a religion was and what it was in my own words, but ever since I got the class I could develop my own answer to what a religion is. To me a religion is connected by shared beliefs and practices by a group of people. A religion is based around some type of supernatural god or spirit. Each religion has traditions that they uphold, and some even have rituals that take place. Now what every religion is basically centered around is faith. Without faith in a religion then there’s no point to it. Faith in a religion is what keeps everyone together, it is basically the glue to the structure to keep it from falling down. And I didn’t think it would be interesting either, but I was proven wrong. Hinduism has much more to it than I actually gave credit, and it has a lot of rules that are meant to be followed. After learning about Hinduism I can give my perspective on it. To me Hinduism is one of the oldest religions that is still learning its ways. Hinduism is one of the religions that wants its believers to follow a specific set of rules so their life can run smoother. Hinduism is a religion that is based on all types of things such as different beliefs, customs, practices, morals, laws ,values and traditions. To me Hinduism is more of a way of living because all the laws and practices forces people to follow them unless they want to be punished. The reason for Hindus basically being forced to live their lives in a specific way is because of the Vedas and the Apastamba
