The two short stories “Lawrence (Larry) Lemieux Lifesaver” by Lorne Zeiler and “Raymond’s Run” by Tony Cade Bambara portray a theme revolving around satisfaction coming from helping others. The two characters, Larry Lemieux, from “Lawrence (Larry Lemieux Lifesaver,” and Hazel E.D Parker, from “Raymond’s Run” have both learned a lot from partaking in competitive sports. Although the two individuals are exceptional athletes, Larry, in my opinion, learned more through competitive sports than Hazel did.
