Many Americans have different opinions about how they feel about their country. However, the relationships between a person and their nation can differ depending on an individual's situation and living conditions. In Claude McKay’s “America” and Arna Bontemps’s “A Black Man Talks of Reaping”, both poets are treated poorly by their country, yet they have different feelings about the situation.
