Have you ever read “Superman and Me” by Sherman Alexie? It is an essay about an indian boy. Both Sherman Alexie and superman break down doors, save lives, and are writers. Sherman Alexie shows the connection between himself and superman. One way they are alike is that they both can kick down doors. In paragraph 4 it states that Superman kicked through a door. “The brown door shatters into many pieces.” Superman kicks down literal doors. In paragraph 8 it states that he accomplished being a writer instead of being a pediatrician. He was never taught to be a writer. “Despite all the books I read, I am still surprised I became a writer.” Sherman Alexie kicks down figurative doors.
Another way that they are alike is that they both are saving lives. Superman is a hero he is always trying to save someone's life. Sherman Alexie is trying to save our lives about teaching people how to read and write. It states in paragraph 8 that “The kids look at him with bright eyes and arrogant wonder.
