These two poems don’t initially give off the feeling of them having much similarity but in a way, the audience may find a miniscule connection just by looking at the titles. For example, in Hitler’s First Photograph, Adolf Hitler is mentioned. He was a dictator who convinced many people that what he was doing to the Jews, was right. While reading this poem, readers are able to visualize Adolf as a baby, in a way. The author says using a calm tone, “Precious little angel, mommy’s sunshine, honeybun.” (Line 11). Then continues to illustrate the setting by using descriptive words such as, “spring sun, geraniums in the windows, // the organ-grinder’s music in the yard, // a lucky fortune wrapped in rosy paper” (Lines 14-16). These lines help create a visual for the audience to imagine and it supports the meaning more.
