Putting things in order makes things easier and come across better in a lot of ways. The Endless Steppe by Esther Haulzing and Her obituary by Matt Schudel both use the chronological text structure to make their points come across. The two texts are similar in the chronological order text structure, yet different in the author's point of view.
These books are similar in the chronological order text structure. In the Obituary the events of Esther's life are in order just like how first she learned“ Russian and attended a rigorous school”and in the end she was reunited”with her parents and grandmother in Lodz”(Schudel). these two things happened in the beginning of the obituary and the end as well as the beginning of the book and the end of the book, therefore making it organized just like the book. Similar events happened in The Endless Steppe such as when she starts school and she realizes that her “ Russian was more broken than usual” (hautzing 100) and then at the end when they finally arrived at their “ destination lodz” (hautzing 242). Just as in the obituary near the middle of the book she attended the school and at the end she was reunited in lodz. There is 3rd person point of view in the obituary when the author states “Hautzig family” and “She spent” (Schudel). The 3rd person point of view is different than the 1st person point of view because it is talking about her from someone else's perspective unlike the book when the author is talking about herself The text structure is different in the endless steppe when there is a 1st person point of view when she says “i looked”( hautzing 126) Explain this is 1st person unlike the obituary that is written in 3rd person here the author is talking about herself instead of someone else. This shows that the pieces of writing are different in the author's point of
