There are four lipoprotein compounds. These are high-density lipoproteins (HDLs), low-density lipoproteins (LDLs), very low density lipoproteins (VLDLs), and chylomicrons. HDLs has a high proportion of protein, little cholesterol, little triglyceride, and is found in blood plasma. LDLs are also found in blood plasma but unlike HDLs, LDLs have a moderate proportion of protein and a high proportion of cholesterol. VLDLs contain the most triglycerides out of the three type lipoproteins. Chylomicrons are found in the blood and transfers fat from the intestine to the liver. HDLs are known as good cholesterol because find excess cholesterol and break it down in the liver. LDLs, also known as bad cholesterol, can clog arteries with plaque. VLDLs
