He spent a great deal of time with his grandfather walking down the beach and generally enjoying eachother's company. He looked to his grandfather for the happiness he felt his life had a shortage of in every other aspect and loved his grandfather more than anybody else.

Without anybody that truly cared about him and his drinking problem Dennis' mind became a little unstable. He had desires involving his friends. His desires were not one that most people had. They were a bit unusual. He had many fantasies of having his way with his friends while they were unconcious; or worse. After his family's discovery of his desires they no longer considered him their son and left him lonely in his time of need. Dennis' lack of love and the still lingering loss of his grandfather resulted in a scarred man that murdered twelve to fifteen men.

It's the need of love. It's nothing like what is depicted in the entertainment industry but it is more real than that. He's a depressed man that needs love in his life but he knows he can't have what he used to. Lack of love can make men seem like monsters
"I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran is a song inspired by the classic tale of The Hobbit written by J.R.R Tolkien. The song really uses the book as a way of giving a more powerful feeling to the listener. Reading the book before listening to the song can give an inexplainable feeling of love for the fictional characters involved.
The song starts with a group of adventurers that seemed to have developed bonds so powerful that they would stay a family even in death. The group is found in a very bad spot, with the fear of their own end in all of their hearts they decide that they would rather die fighting with their brothers rather than escaping with their lives. The love they have for each other is stronger than anything that could turn them away, even death. If they're people fall than they will fall with them and not flee because nothing can turn them back.
