The novel S.E. Hinton’s Outsiders and Minfong Ho’s The Clay Marble, have a remarkably identical theme. The theme for both of these novels is, family and friendship comes first. Evidence that supports this theme can be found in both books. In The Outsiders, “We could get along without anyone but johnny”. This quote shows that the gang couldn’t get along without each other. This supports the theme because the quote shows that the gang has a strong bond and are like a family unit.
