The Pity and Fear of Oedipus

The time when the audience felt pity for Oedipus is when he found out that the oracle’s prediction came true. He killed his father Laius and realized he slept with his mother. Jocasta. Oedipus causes the plague to happen by killing the former king Laius and was blame to cause the plague. Jocasta hanged herself and Oedipus poked his two eyes with his mother’s pin and asked to be sent to the mountains where he was supposed to die.
The time when the audience felt fear during the story is when the plague was going on and nothing was going good for the village no crops was growing babies wasn’t born there was a murder on the village and that Oedipus was arguing with Tieresias to find out who kill the former king
