The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub is the story of a 12 year old boy whose mother is dying from cancer. He soons meets Lester Parker “Speedy” a handyman who seems to know the cure for his dying mother and other strange things that were bothering Jack. He called him travelin Jack just like his father and Jack knew he had to be one of his father’s friends. Soon he teaches him everything about the other world a parallel version of earth known as the territories. Now he has to go on a quest to find an object a talisman that can save her.
