In the books Things Fall Apart and Heart of Darkness things are very different but also alike in ways. In both books white people came into their land and disturbed their society. The white people in both books looked at the blacks as “savages” and full of bad. In both stories it appears that the black people were living without any problems and the white people came in and caused all of the problems.. The white people in Heart of Darkness main reason was to make the blacks suffer. On the other hand the main purpose of the whites coming to the blacks village was to convert them to christianity. In Heart of Darkness the people believed that "seizing" the Congo for Belgium would help the natives. But the truth was that nothing that happened
