There were the Transcendentalists (T) and the Anti Transcendentalists (AT) during the New England Renaissance. They were two literary movements with different viewpoints and few similarities. Many different short stories and novels are made with these beliefs, such as “Self Reliance” and “The Minister’s Black Veil”. First, T is based on the human senses and thinking for oneself. It's a physical reality where the truth lies beyond the universe and can only be intuition, musical insight (meditation), or communicating with nature. This follows having the belief in the potential of humanity, having a positive, idealistic attitude and being able to respect nature.
