If I were to choose a biographical subject for children, I would focus on a specific individual’s life. Creating an authentic story from true factual information, but showcasing not just their life, but the emotions and aspirations they had while living through it. Something I feel in my heart that needs to be addressed to children is that, imagination and their early insights of a world that they aspire to one day grasp don’t have to end. Among adults, there are many who don’t understand the value of imagination, and the wonder of a free open mindset. Today, with the pressures of today’s adults striving for children to realistically think about, and eventually choose a path that will be the safest and secure due to the reality of our economic decline I believe that the experiences and elements that make up the joy of childhood should be sacred. The most striking in resemblance being Milton S. Hershey who created the Hershey Chocolate and company which mirrors Wonka Industries. Much like the fictional man himself, there are men and women alike who have achieved and made their foundation in life all through the imaginative thoughts of thinking “What if?” or “What could I do or be?”. Which starts at the early stages of childhood. The great albert Einstein in his lifetime once said “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” The innovators and dreamers of the past contributed culturally and internationally to the world they lived in, much like Wonka and his candy that made rainbows to children’s hearts.
