Winnie the Pooh and Horton the Elephant both teach lessons but the lessons are different from each other. In the story, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Jar by A.A. Milne, the protagonist learns that overeating can lead to very serious consequences. In the story, Pooh eats a whole pot of honey intended for his friend, Piglet, and then goes on to eat more honey at Rabbit’s underground home. When he is finished, he has become so large that he can’t get back out of Rabbit’s home through the door (a hole leading above ground.) Pooh is miserable and suffers greatly as he has to remain in the hole and not eat until he gets skinny again. (Milne p.4) On the other hand, in Horton Hatches the Egg by Dr Seuss, Horton the Elephant learns a great lesson
