The University of Oregon came alive in 1876 as a public college in the small Oregon city of Eugene. Over 3000 trees cover the 295 acre campus, making it one of the most sustainable campuses in the United States. People come from all over the world to visit or attend this school. The University is also located in Portland, on the coast and at Pine Mountain Observatory in central Oregon, 6300 feet above sea level. All around the Eugene campus there are many places to visit. If you like fishing or rafting, go to the Willamette and Mckenzie River are nearby. The Scenic Oregon Coast and the snowy Cascades are just a couple hours’ drive away. Parks are numerous and everything is bike friendly! Adventure awaits…
Everyone knows the University of Oregon for its football program. But what about their academics? Do they exceed the many expectations? Well, according to the U.S. News and World Report, they are ranked #106 in the nation (out of about 201 universities). They are well known for their School of Architecture and College of Arts and Sciences. In total, the University of Oregon has over 200 academic programs, which includes 77 Majors and 69 Minors. Located in the small town of Klamath Falls, east of Ashland and almost 25 miles north of the California border, in the middle of the Cascade Range. Their mascot is Hootie, rooting for the Hustlin’ Owls. This school has other campuses located in Wilsonville, La Grande and Salem. As you may see from the title, this school specializes in technological education. They offer many opportunities to internship in the field you are interested in.
