These books were far from disappointing, and definitely a wonderful read for any mystery lover. They show different ways to solve a mystery. Brother Cadfael solved things using Induction, but Father Brown used introspection.
Father Brown is a Roman Catholic priest, and as such he solves a mystery in a different style, though just as effectively, as other detectives. He worked through the crime moving from the beginning to end, and placed himself in the shoes of the perpetrator. Used only the facts to solve the crime.
Brother Cadfael, however, worked through the mystery a bit differently. He worked backwards, and focused on elimination, using various experiments rather than pure fact in order to determine who did it. He begins with how and
