The Declaration on Solidarity claims that solidarity is the commitment of a person to work on the pursuit for the common good, acknowledging that by working towards the common good, the person is building his own prosperity. In conclusion, we can see how these three readings and their core concepts are deeply complementary, and how they all consider the success of a society to be dependent on the development of the individual values of human beings.
2. The statement “workers of all enterprises – unite!” might definitely appeal to the Burmese member. The word unity is completely necessary in order to succeed in a large-scale, and in the long-term. The fact that the workers at Gdansk did not accept a settlement that would be favorable for them, but that would betray the rest of the Polish workers, demonstrated unity.
