Kurtz to unleash his anger caused by his impatience is suppressed as a result of civility. Mr. Hyde attempts to repress his impatience as he uncontrollably release his resentments when [he laid his hand upon Dr Lanyon’s arm and sought to shake him out of lively impatience] (pg 39). Impatience on the part of Mr. Hyde clearly shows one of his dark personality traits. ‘I beg your pardon, Dr Lanyon”, he replied, civility enough. “What you say is very well founded; and my impatience has shown its heels to my politeness. I come here at the instance of your colleague... that he was wrestling against the approaches of the hysteria-“(pg 39). Here Mr. Hyde defends himself with the moral of society by not violently expressing his impatience rather; the impact of civility successfully helps him overcome his desire of releasing his anger violently. He gives Dr Lanyon the necessary respect and politely talks about his impatience even though deep inside him he probably was angry.
