Persian mythology is riddled with the stories of heroes. Through various Persian tales, the traditional Persian hero is described as a man with traits like bravery and strength. In the short story “Real Men Keep Their Word,” Sher, the protagonist, is considered a traditional Persian hero, just like Baba from The Kite Runner. In comparison, Baba is more like a traditional Persian hero than Sher in terms of strength, bravery, and loyalty. To begin, Baba was stronger than Sher.
