To begin, in “Everything Will Be Okay”, the reader sees that you should be your own person. James tries to act like his family (So they would like him) even though he cannot stand what his family is doing to animals. This includes him wanting to work for Dr. Milk just so he can fit in with his brothers. This shows that before he learns his lesson, he will not be himself to fit in. Another example is when he has his tragic experience. His brother puts his kitten, Smoky, to sleep when he thought that he was going to be cured.
