Sports Comparison Participating in sports is an important activity and should be embraced even more by both children and young adults. Sports for instance, lead to a development of decent habits that can be transferred into adulthood. However, sports have both benefits and a disappointing side to everyone. With a huge population of adults in United States (US) classified as obese, it has been less important to take part in sports. Girls also have both positive and negative reasons why they like a particular sport. It is believed that people engaging in any sport have a better chance of burning more calories compared to those who don’t take part in any sport. This essay will therefore compare and contrast why girls prefer specific sports. American football and basketball has been chosen as subjects to be compared and contrasted in this essay. American football has become a popular sport in US with time and it has received much support and more participation globally. There are a number of concerns that comes with American football that is both physiological and physical. This sport is played using a racquet to strike a shuttlecock across a net. The main game is mostly played in the most common way as ‘singles’ though it can be played as ‘doubles’ too. Singles involves one player for each side while doubles has two players on every side. Furthermore, badminton is an outdoor activity that takes place in either a yard or on a beach that involves a rectangular indoor court. Points are achieved by striking the shuttlecock with racquet to land on the other half of the court of the opposing player. The game was developed in British India as battledore and shuttlecock game. However, this game is today played globally and it has been turned into a summer Olympic sport with five trials being
