The boys should be punished harshly I feel. They choose to go the extra mile, and assault those women. They should be charged as adults because they did try to rape the girl that was only 16 years old. So, they should get the full penalty for their actions. They choose to do their crime so they shouldn’t get off easy. I think that the five boys that assaulted that women could have got sympathy from the jury. They would had maybe got sympathy from the jury only if they didn’t choose to assault the other two girls. Doing that made earning the sympathy of the jury even that much harder to gain. I personally think that the don’t deserve any sympathy. If a compatibilist saw this, they would probably say that they were directed towards the robbery …show more content…
The compatibilist would say their guilty though, because they choose to go the extra mile and try to rape that woman. A determinist would just say that those boys were determined to be there at that time a decided to assault those three women. A libertarian would just say that those boys choose to do that on their own free will. The victim’s reaction is hopeful and I like it a lot. I can see why she can forgive the kids. They may not of had they best upbringing, but it doesn’t excuse them for what they did to her or those two girls. I am happy that her two kids feel bad for the boys, and see why not to do those actions. This statement helped clear up a lot of things that were over exaggerated by the media. She stated that not a single victim was raped. They were sexual assaulted by the five boys but not raped. She also said that was healing and that he kids were also healing. I feel like this wasn’t the best thing to release this statement. It is bad because it made the case harder for the attorney. Which he/she was trying to put them away for what they did to you. If a determinist was defending the boys, they would say that it was determined that the boys would assault
