CompStat is the gathering of statistics used by law enforcement officers. These criminal statistics are then used to try to get rid of the problem source. The limitation of CompStat is that it only focuses on that single jurisdiction (people-wise and location wise). Statistics such as “…crime, disorder, and traffic problems and trends are detected over a relatively short time..." (Intelligence-Led Policing: The Integration of Community Policing and Law Enforcement Intelligence, n.d., p. 44). Because the law enforcement administrations are being held accountable, these statistics are time sensitive (so the roots of the problems are fixed as soon as possible).
