Today, there are all sorts of ways to memorialize entertainers. For instance, different awards hosted by popular television channels and Film festivals. For those in music, theater and sports, there are also trophies, nationwide and in some cases worldwide recognition. Once so much fame is acquired by an individual in their field of entertainment they become somewhat of a role model. After enough idles are created a museum of all the individuals memorabilia is constructed; a hall of fame. A hall of fame is dedicated to the specific field. Halls of fame are mainly associated with varying sports, the positions played in the sport, a country’s history, aviation, music and space. Each part of STEM would be categorized similar to life. Every letter in STEM representing a kingdom filled with their own phylum, class and so on. Along with this would be informational or inspirational exhibits such as “Voice the Contribution” which would host accomplished female candidates. The candidate’s exhibits would state the person’s brief history, their accomplishments and how they have contributed to society. A few notable individuals inducted to this portion of the hall would include, but not be limited to: Shirley Ann Jackson, Freda Porter, Aprille Ericsson Mae Jemison and Alice Evelyn …show more content…
This woman is a medical doctor and astronaut pioneer. She is the first female African-American to venture into space along with being the first authentic astronaut to appear on my favorite childhood television show, Star Trek! Prior to her accomplishments Jemison attended Stanford then proceeded to medical school at Comell University. She is unique from other scientist as her path is a little unconventional and she was torn between two passions that, at first glance, are quite opposite; dance and medicine. However her major was chemical engineering and African studies. A distinguished characteristic would be her becoming an area officer for the Peace Corps for two countries. After retiring, she founded a program honoring her mother called the Dorthy Jemison Foundation for Excellence. Other achievements include Jemison’s corporation Bio Sentient which specializes in medical technology, her presidency of Jemison Group Inc., status as Principal of DARPA’s 100 Year Starship Project. Some of her societal contributions would be an international camp, she started for kids called The Earth We Share, served on many councils/boards and was a professor at Dartmouth. Jemison has accomplished so much in her life and is now only at the age of 58. For these reasons she is inducted into the “Voice the Contribution” Hall of
