Throughout the novel, Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie, by David Lubar the main character faces numerous challenges. Scott Hudson was just starting his freshman year with his three best friends. Although the four of them swore to stick together, they slowly drifted apart. Scott’s problems did not end there though, he dealt with girl drama, family problems, and school activities. Due to all these conflicts, readers are able to relate to a character and the setting, describe aspects of the plot, and use the author's writing to discover themes and connect them to other types of writing.
