Confucianism

Confucianism was adopted as the official philosophy in China during the Han dynasty in 206 B.C. to 220 A.D. and it remained the official philosophy for more than 2,000 years. The book, Analects, collected all ideas that Confucius had regarding a stable and united society in which every individual has their proper role and cooperates with society.

One of the reasons that Confucianism was accepted by the Han rulers was the idea that Confucius believed citizens should respect the goverment and obey the laws and orders that the emperor put in place. This idea was reflected in the reliefs from The Wu Family Shines (151 CE) where images of emperors, paragons, and legends would show their lifestyles, customs, and beliefs.
