The second largest rainforest in the world, home to 400 different species of mammals, and 3,000 unique kinds of plants the Congo Basin Rainforest is in danger. This rainforest ,which is located in Africa, is also home to multiple people who need the resources that are in the rainforest to survive. The threat of deforestation and bounty hunting could destroy this rainforest and all of its inhabitants. The people need to think of ways to prevent deforestation, bounty hunting, and a way to save their farmlands.

Deforestation is a huge problem in the Congo Basin Rainforest that could lead to destruction. As it is stated in Solutions to Protect the Congo Basin Rainforest, "The agencies are also working to stop the international market for illegal timber..." and in The Congo Basin Rainforest, "Individuals cut down 5-8 times more trees than timber companies do," These quotes mean that there are people who come into the forest and cut trees down to sell on an illegal market. These agencies must continue to work on it. This strategy must continue or else the forest could be destroyed. Every day trees are being cut down and sold the forest is getting closer to having nothing left in it.

Bounty hunting is something that could lead to devastation. As the author states in The Congo Basin Rainforest, "Within the dense forest live numerous species of birds, amphibians, and reptiles," and the this texts also states, "It is home to 400 species of mammals,". This means that this forest has a gigantic food-chain, and if one of the animals in that food-chain goes extinct it could create a domino effect that could set the whole rainforest off the rails. Other animals could go extinct as well due to lack of food or another species' population could explode do to no predators. Bounty hunting could be the thing that ruins the rainforests
