Conversion therapy has so many detrimental effects on the patients that it even leads many to depression, anxiety, drug abuse, homelessness or even suicide. It’s kind of insane how some people are more caught up on someone’s sexuality rather than death. It’s even a known fact that those who have gone through conversion therapy are eight times more likely to attempt suicide than those who have not. But we can’t just hide behind doors and act like these problems aren’t affecting us too! Do you want to know where our taxpayers dollars go? Right to conversion therapy. Why should we let our own government put our money into some mentally hazardous practice of therapy? It’s kind of crazy how we bullshit our society into thinking that having sexual or loving intentions towards your same sex is a bad thing. When is loving whoever you want going to be normal? To have peace we must have love, but how can we have love when everyone around us is telling us it doesn’t exist when you love the same gender? It’s a messed up that people believe we choose our sexual interest when they are much more of an amazing discovery between ourselves and our feelings.
