When Deion Sanders would be born on August 9,1967 in Fort Myers, Florida, it would be the birth of a superstar. He would attend Florida State University to play football,baseball, and track. He would later go on to be a professional baseball and football player! He later was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He retired and became a football analyst for CBS Sports and the NFL Network.

He also began playing Pop Warner Football at age 7. He played 3 positions because he was so fast. When he turned age 10, his Pop Warner team won a national championship tournament in Atlanta. He liked playing Pop Warner football so much that he kept playing instead of joining the North Fort Myers football team as a freshman.
He played 3 positions in baseball and averaged almost 15 points a game in basketball. In football,he was still too small to play, but he did end up joining the team as a sophomore, however he didn’t get to play. The reason he didn’t get to play wasn’t because he wasn’t good, but he was too small and skinny. He still continued playing baseball and basketball. He got to play his freshman year as a defensive back. He began playing baseball for the Seminoles too. He got a starting job as the team’s right fielder. He led the Seminoles to the College World Series and took second. In football, he was Florida State’s defensive MVP and went to 4 All America teams.
He struggled in his sophomore year in baseball, hitting .221. Even though he struggled hitting, he still stole 28 bases. The Seminoles still went to the College World Series. The Seminoles football team ranked No. 2 in the country when they lost only 1 game. He was drafted by the New York Yankees for a 2 year contract for $428,000 dollars. He also led the Seminoles football team to the Sugar Bowl, beating Auburn. Now college was over for Deion.
Deion had impressed NFL scouts by running the 40 yard dash in 4.27 seconds. But one scout was nasty, saying that Deion was so fast because he was wearing track shoes. Then Deion took off his shoes and got a 4.21. He was chosen by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1989 draft. He and his agent had trouble with a contract, but they figured it out:4 years for $4.4 million.
