In Courage For Beginners by Karen Harrington the qualities of characters helps me and readers understand what is going on in the story and helps me fully understand what the characters think.
The text states “i have never walked this far by myself...’(page number 65) the speaker is saying since her dad always drives to the store and gets groceries and is now in the hospital and her mom is afraid of leaving the house she has to take control and help her family until her dad is better.
This means that she is scared and helps me understand her situation. The evidence shoes me that she needs to find a way to help her family, in other words this demonstrates how she is caring for her family.
Therefore this helps me see how she cares for her family
