He lies to the King, saying that his master is a Prince. Puss in Boots lies to the King saying, “I am presenting to you with a rabbit from my lord, the Marquis de Carabas.” (Perrault 48). His master is certainly not a lord and does not even have a castle. Puss in Boots catches animals in order to show the King that Marquis de Carabas should get married to his daughter. While showing the King all that Marquis owns, he goes to the reapers in the field saying, “If you do not say that all of this wheat you are reaping belongs to Marquis de Carabas, you will be cut into little pieces” (Perrault 49). Puss threatens and scares them into telling the King that they are currently reaping the fields of Marquis de Carabas. Later on, he tricks the Ogre into turning into a mouse and Puss eats him. From eating the Ogre, he acquires the Orge’s castle and land. Due to theatening innocent people and lying to the King, Puss in Boots differs from the other stories because he destructively hurts everyone around him and he has the tendency of tricking others in order to obtain his selfish
