Company Ownership:
Cozy Homes will be owned and operated by Elizabeth Young, Sara Harrison, and Sarah Salatino. The company will be S Corporation. In an effort to support small business, Congress created the S Corporations. The greatest advantage of an S Corporation is the tax benefit, because corporations are able to be taxed as if a partnership. This way the double taxation on dividends is avoided, while still having limited liability. For more information about S Corporations, visit the Vermont Department of Taxes.

Location: CozyHomes will be located on Sand Hill Road in Castleton, VT. The land currently is owned by the Town, though they are willing and eager to sell. Which for our case will have an advantage, since the town is eager to sell they likely will sell for significantly less the the property value. Additional advantage, was when this land was donated by College the town had plan to build a community garden. This plan of course never came to fruition but in the process part of the land was cleared, lowering our cost to prepare the land. See appendix #1 for photos and details of the land.
