Rewrite of Chapter One of Cinder by Marissa Meyer

The burning heat of New Beijing was hot enough as it was, But the gray sweatshirt that I was enveloped in was making it even worse. As I was walking through the town market, people gave me weird stares, this was probably because I was wearing a sweatshirt in this heat. My eyes wondered around until I found what I was looking for. The booth had spare parts, tools, and screws and such everywhere. It was a smaller booth that I expected for the best mechanics in the country. I dropped my android on the table with a loud thud. The now wide eyed girl nodded “ Right of course. How-can I-are you.” she stuttered.\, It was kinda cute when she stuttered. “I am looking for Lin Cinder, is he around.” I ask the cute girl. “I-I am Lin Cinder.” she stammered yet again. I was shocked, how can this girl that is around my age be the best mechanics in New Beijing. “You’re Linh Cinder.” I ask in disbelief. “ Yes your Highn- “ she cut herself off and bit her lower lip. “The mechanic.” I asked again just to be sure I was hearing her correctly. “How may I help you?” she asked more confident this time. Instead of answering I looked down to meet her gaze and smiled sheepishly “ You're not quite what I was expecting.” I say rubbing my neck. “ Well you're hardly- what I- um.” she did that cute stuttering thing again. Instead of finishing what ever she was going to say she asked “ What seems to be wrong with your android, Your Highness.” She started to examine the foot, “I can’t get her to turn on, she was working fine one day, and the next, nothing. ” She turned her around to the front to inspect something. “Have you had any problems with her before.” she asks a little calm now that she has something to do it
