As soon as Kentrell woke up, he knew that today was the day of his football game. Kentrell’s team, the cowboys, was undefeated and they were playing in the most important game of the season today. If they won today they would be able to play in the championship next saturday against the falcons. Kentrell got up and got ready for school.
He walked out of his room and his Dad said, “Hey Kentrell are you feeling excited for your game today?”
Kentrell responded, “ Of course, I have never been more excited for anything more than I am today!”
Kentrell went to school and sat in his classroom before class and talked with his friends.
Kentrell asked, “Little Moe are you excited for our game today?”
Little Moe said, “Today, I am going to get three…show more content… The Titans got the ball first and their first time with the ball they ran and got stopped three straight plays. The the cowboys got the ball and Little Moe had a few good runs, but they couldn’t score either.
When the Titans got the ball back their offense was rolling they got big play after big play and they got all the way down until they were two yards from scoring a touchdown. The titans quarterback dropped back to pass looking for a receiver to throw the ball. Kentrell was guarding the titans best catcher and the quarterback threw it up for him. Right as the wide receiver was about to catch it Kentrell leapt into the air and caught it.
“Interception!” He shouted as soon as he got up, “ I got an interception!” he shouted to all of his teammates. His teammates all cheered when he came over to the sideline.
The first half ended and the score was zero to zero. Kentrell was mad at his teammates, because he had made so many good plays, but no one on offense had scored any…show more content… All you have to do if you want to win this game is just follow me!”
Kentrell’s teammates were angry, because instead of encouraging them Kentrell had just been bragging about how good he was.
The coach pulled Kentrell aside and talked with him about what he had done wrong, “Kentrell if you want to win this game you have to play with your teammates and work together with them to win the game. Football is a sport with over 20 people on each teammate and no matter how good you are you can’t win alone you have to play together with your teammates.”
Kentrell understood he realized if he wanted to win he had to encourage his teammates and play together with them in order to win the game. He couldn’t win the game by himself.
So Kentrell went back into the locker room and gave a new speech to his teammates,
“ Okay if our team is going to win this game we have to play together as a team. Each one of us cannot win the game by ourselves. We all have to work together and combine our abilities to win the game.”
His teammates all cheered for his speech, because it had given them new energy they were all ready to go out and win the game together. They all ran out of the locker room screaming and yelling with
