This assignment is designed to discuss many issues within 3-4 pages. It will: (1) identify and describe 4 needs of various populations served in the criminal justice profession; (2) discuss how the criminal justice profession addresses the needs of a multicultural and diverse population; (3) discuss whether or not society is aware of the pertinent duties and responsibilities associated with the criminal justice professional , including multiculturalism and diversity concerns; (4) discuss the perceptions that society has about the profession; and (5) what can be done to remove negative stereotypes associated with the profession by providing 2-3 examples.

Domestic violence may be described as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used to by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner. This particular population, those who have been victims of domestic violence in any relationship, needs the criminal justice professional because these individuals need a professional that they can turn to in order to escape this type of situation. Domestic violence victims need an agent to protect them from enduing such abuse. These include, focusing on the task at hand and remaining impartial to whoever is involved in the crime or suspected crime, bringing justice to those who deserve it regardless of race, creed, color, etc., and promote positive interactions. By focusing on the job, a criminal justice professional can avoid the politics associated with the field. Also, this allows that professional to remain impartial to those individuals involved and makes serving justice more efficient. A professional can also remain unbiased against different types of individuals involved, which promotes that the professional can be fair and honest while completing the task at hand. Lastly, treating people with respect, unless otherwise needed, is important in establishing that positive interaction. For everyone negative interaction, there must be five positive interactions to improve that relationship
