Causal Argument Rough Draft It is a question that many college students find themselves asking at one point or another during their excursions towards a degree, “Why am I here?” While some students have clear intentions and motivations as to why they are spending so much time and money to study, others wonder if they could be doing more productive things than studying ancient texts or writing long and arduous midterm papers. It is a common belief that every person should at least attempt to put themselves through a higher education vie college, but studies show that going through university studies may not be for everybody. Some reasons for this include varying ranges of genetic intelligence, lack of work ethic, and miscellaneous personal reasons. To not go to college after finishing the twelfth grade is almost an embarrassment and is perceived as a failure on the students part. A writer for www.businessweek.com states that, “college isn’t for everyone—but work is, or should be.” There are so many different reasons as to why people should not go to a 4-year college. Perhaps their family is financially unable to send their child to school or in a financial position where their son or daughter would need to stay at home and find a job to support everyone else. For these individuals, it has been found that they would be far better off becoming a specialized worker by learning a certain skill at community college or on a job. There are a number of lucrative work opportunities that do not require a college degree to be eligible to fill the position. If the worker feels compelled to return to college at a later time, he or she is completely free to do so if they want to work in a different field or in a higher
