The definition of a witch hunt is, a search for and subsequent persecution of a supposed witch or a campaign directed a person of group holding unorthodox or unpopular views. It was unfortunate that three white lacrosse players were accused of rape. They were accused for something they didn’t due. It was blown way out of proportion and at the time the players got caught up in it. It was very similar to the crucible and that’s why they should change the way some of the laws work. So they don’t have more problems like this in the future.

The black woman and the district attorney were the abigail Williams in this case. When Crystal Mangum accused the players it was unjust, considering they were innocent. The district attorney should not of made statements. Because of the district attorney, he caused many more problems telling the media all kinds of stuff that wasn’t true. The district attorney got his justice, he was sent to jail for saying the things he did. Once the word got out about the rape, it spreaded like wildfire. Which hurt the boys repetition. It caused many more problems for the players. The players had their reputation destroyed over this case. Everyone thought they have been accused just because they were rich white boys. The federal government put an emphasis on encouraging universities to better respond to reports of sexual assault. It also makes the colleges and universities mad. They get a bad reputation for something that wasn’t even real. They also have to spend tons of money on the
