In 1960 the USA imposed a trade embargo on Cuba because a communist Fidel Castro overthrew the US-supported Bautista Zaldivar - Cuban military leader and dictator in 1953 and then formed an alliance with the Soviet Union. These were the main points for the conflict between United states and Cuba. The purpose of this investigation is to answer the following question: To what extent did the Cuban embargo affect the quality of life of Cuban citizens in the 1990s in relation to healthcare? This investigation is important because it gives the idea to what extent the US put embargoes on Cuba and how this implementation changed the standard of living for Cubans relation to healthcare.
