“My body could stand the crutches but my mind couldn't stand the sidelines,” Michael Jordan. Being benched is one of the hardest things that has happened to me. By looking at life's curve balls one can see that softball and soccer were not the best for me which is important because i suffer from tendonitis which has caused me to get surgery. Due to this I was put on the sidelines for good. Which as an athlete this isn't something you want to hear, it kind of breaks
Tendonitis is an inflammation of a tendon, common from overuse but also from infection or rheumatic diseases. When I was diagnosed with tendinitis it changed my life dramatically. I have tendinitis in my right knee. Due to this I have had to be in and out of hospitals. There are times that I can not even walk due to the inflammation. Which isn't a way to live day to day. Soccer and softball were the sports I lived for until early October of 2014. In soccer i was the goalie now you use your legs a lot more than you think for this position. A Lot of jumping and diving which wasn't good on my knee. And in softball i was the pitcher which wasn't as strenuous but when i got up to bat i had to run and go all for it. Which like being a goalie isn't good on my knee.so eventually after many doctors visits i was benched which i took as a hard blow. I went through one surgery and was told i still couldn't play but i can do some of the things as practice which was music to my ears. I enjoyed every moment of practice even tho i wasn't playing i was getting stronger and thought one point i would be back to playing. But in march of 2015 i had fell while running with my softball team and i would use my knee for days. I knew then that it was time to let go.
