The Russian Monarchy exemplified absolute power by ordering strict rule over everyone in their control and punishing everyone who disobeyed them quickly and powerfully. When Ivan the Great was crowned as the Tsar, he showed both his and other empires the power that he had over everybody else, as he was able to fight off the controlling Tatars that previously ruled over Russia and tripled in size, stabilizing and improving Russia overall. On page 18 of the article “Czars and Shoguns: Early Russia and Feudal Japan”, which was published by Core Knowledge, it states “In 1480, a group of Russian princes led by Ivan III and his son forced the Tatars to retreat. Russia was at last free from foreign rule”. This shows how Ivan the Great was able to
