With all these people judging their peers, it leads to low self-esteem. It tends to make a person mentality that they do not have the appropriate enough body to wear certain clothes, or that they don’t have the proper look to pull it off. This then leads to depression and having a little voice in a person’s head, always judging their actions. They become the judge of themselves, always saying negative things that are most likely not true at all. In other words, say there is a girl who is a bit on the chubby side (not saying anything terrible about being that size) and she wants to wear a crop top. The thing about this is that society usually puts the idea that “fat people” cannot wear crop top’s since it would look disgusting on them. Since she grew up knowing that she can not wear clothing she wants, “ becomes difficult to feel confident and comfortable in your own skin later” (Lachmann). In order to get away from this judgement though, is to not care for their opinion. Just block out any negative words that come out of their mouth and instead only let positive things come in. Society should express themselves and wear whatever they want since there is always going to be somebody out there who disagrees or has a different opinion. If a guy wants to wear a Dallas Cowboys jersey to support their favorite team, but everybody else hates them, they shouldn't let this affect their choice of clothing, because as said in a blog “ Like it or not, you are being judged by how you look, how you dress, and how you carry yourself” (Kiisel You are judged by your appearance). No matter what the type clothing or style, someone will be out there to judge, so might as well ignore these comments.
