After reading Dana Gioisa’s poem, “Words” I cannot agree with him that the world does not need words. In our culture there are times throughout everyone’s life when actions cannot be used to describe something and in these cases words are used. Using words when describing something may not be effect because words take away from the fill its description. But using words will give the recipient an idea of what is being described where as with actions doing this may be a lot harder. An example of this would be trying to describe the aurora borealis to someone who does not know what they are. Describing it you might say they are beautiful abstract steaks of light filling the night sky, although this definition would not fully describe what they
