How transformative is the “truth” found in art? How can something viewed as so subjective teach any truth which is objective? Being a dogmatic proponent of sola scriptura, I’m skeptical of such claims. However, if one can learn that Native Americans are not the warring savages of 20th century propaganda, by watching Dances with Wolves, then I can appreciate what can be taught in film, because it affirms the message of Jesus that all are equally loved and worthy of redemption.
