All Genocide’s start because of a variety of factors. Some examples of this are the Armenian, Cambodian, and Darfur genocide. In the Armenian genocide at least 1.2 million possibly up to 1.5 million people died in the Armenian genocide the genocide lasted for about 2 years, the people who were targeted in the genocide were the Armenian people in the Ottoman Empire. In the Cambodian genocide 1.5 million to 2 million people died in the 4 year genocide the main people that were targeted in the genocide were Cambodian citizens. Finally, the Darfur Genocide. 400,000 people have been killed so far in this 20 year genocide, the main people being targeted are the ethnic Darfuri people. Starting with power structures in the Armenian and Cambodian genocide then war in the Cambodian and Darfur genocide and ending with the contrasting ethnic and religious peoples.
To start, the Armenian and Cambodian genocide both share one significant factor, power structures. A good example of this is the Ottoman empire in the Armenian genocide and in the Armenian genocide the Ottoman empire and its offshoots used in the Armenian genocide and the Communist Party of Kampuchea and its programs in the Cambodian genocide. The Ottoman empire used the millet system which permitted the Armenians communal autonomy as a religious minority, much as the Greeks and Jews, while depriving them from all forms of political participation.
