In the interview I conducted I interviewed Ms. Darlene Turner. She is a Case Management Child Protective Service Social Worker for the Department of Social Services. Ms. Turner received her Bachelors of social work from Tennessee State University where she also minored in education. Ms. Turner mention that she has worked with all ethnicities, ages, sex, race and genders. She also stated that she even had to assist the LGBTQ community. The main duties of her position as a child protective services social worker that she mention were to investigate abuse in children, and neglect. Also she worked in many different fields in the child protective service profession such as; Foster care, and adoptions. Ms. Turner also mention that she had done a lot of training in the foster care fragment of child protective services. Ms. Turner also worked in the Jurisdiction of law enforcement for instance; county and state agencies. She also provided resources and accreditation for social worker’s with the court system.

Turner consisted of a lot of documentation and setting goals. A lot of face to face interviews, Assessing Schools, Teachers, parents, law enforcement, and (etc.). The best part of Ms. Turner’s job she said was seeing a client being abuse to come from their lowest and show them there is a way out of your circumstances and there is hope. The worst part of her job she stated was the long hours. Ms. Turner began practicing social work with the department of social services because she wanted the skill set and to learn all aspects of life and the experience. Documentation and paperwork is very important according to Ms. Turner. She also said that if you don’ document it’s like it never happen. Also it’s very important that you take really good notes just in case another social work might have to pick up your
