In the book A Child Called “It”, by Dave Pelzer, Dave is a young boy being brutally abused by his mother. Among his other siblings, Dave’s heinous mother chooses to violently abuse only him by starving him days at a time, stabbing him and even burning him on top of the gas stove. Even though Dave is young and terrified of his mother, there may be some ways he can flee from one of the most acute child abuse cases. Dave could attempt to escape from his mother by telling his dad about the terrible abuse that is happening to him. “I loved it when Dad was home.
