The story “david and Goliath” and the poem “Casey at bat” have similarities and differences. The first similarity is both of them were faced with problems. Casey’s problem was that his team was losing. David's big problem was that he had to fight a man that was nine feet tall. In the poem “Casey at the bat” it says,” The Outlook wasn’t brilliant for the Mudville nine that day: The score stood four to two, with but one inning more to play. And then when Cooney died at first, and Barrows did the same, A sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game.” In this stanza it is talking about how the mudville nine is losing and the fans are upset. The last way that they are in common is that they both were insulted. Casey at the bat said“Fraud!” cried the maddened thousands,¨ this means that they thought that he was a fake.
