David Farragut
David Farragut was a highly respected U.S naval officer. He first entered the Navy at age 9. At age 12 he was put in charge of one of the Navy’s prize ships. By the time he was 20 years old he became an officer.
He was adopted by David Porter, a captain in the navy. David learned at a young age what to do in the Navy. According to History.com staff, “Admiral David Farragut entered the U.S. Navy at age 9 and just two years later served in the War of 1812” (1).
